Atari was born deep in the caverns of Ryloth, 15 years before the Battle of Yavin. Her father was one of the clan leaders. He ruled the shadow port they lived on. For years his city was pilliaged by slavers stealing away any Twi'leks who stray from the safety of the city. As a result her father , the former Republic Senator Ord fren Taa, had always been very over protective and rarely let her out of their home.
Atari however is very rebelious at heart and would sneak as often as possible underneath her fathers watchfull eye. She discovered this one spot within the upper levels of the cave where she could view out a window to the dark twilight sky.
She would often stare at the stars and wished she could travel amoung them away from this claustrophobic life.
Ryloth unlike many other planets has a hot and a cold side. The Hot side is forever baked as the rays of their intense sun burns it to a crisp where no life exists. The otherside is forever in twilight frozen and dark. All life lives between these to extreems. Just on the dark side forever in dusk can be found the Twi'lek hidden cities. Great winds known as Heat Storms often flow from the baked lands over the cities forever leaving the Twi'lek in danger. It is because of these heat storms that the Twi'leks live underground in vast cavern cities.
As she grew older she began sneaking out more regularly. Often to the starport where she listened to legends and stories of their adventures amoung the stars. But amoung all the stories there was one ship an crew she most often looked for. She met the smuggler named Dutch Antillies one day while he first arrived. It was his first trip to Ryloth. He had been guarenteed a shipment of Ryll, a spice like substance native to Ryloth, for transport to the Hutt Criminal Syndicate. However once he arrived his contact was no where to be found. If Antillies did not return with the Ryll he would surely be a dead man, and the Twi'leks guarded their Ryll mines jelously. Atari had be listening to stories when she heard his sad woes. Knowing that her father was the leader of this city she offered to get him the Ryll he needed.
After much begging and pleaing and getting grounded for life for sneaking out Atari negotiated a deal for the smuggler. However she was forbidden to ever go to the starport again. Dutch Antillies took his Ryll and scheduled regular shipments with her father.
Each month he would return for another shipment and each month Atari would sneak out of her home and pay visit to him. The two developed a strong friendship. She expressed her desires to leave Ryloth and travel amoung the stars. As a result the Captain began giving her lessons on how to operate, fly, and serve aboard a starship. Over time Atari fell in love with Antillies.
After a year of visiting back and forth he was showing Atari how to operate the controls of the ship. When Atari got up and could not hold back her emotions anylonger. She shut and locked the bridge door and stripped down to nothing and gave herself to the poor captain as any Twi'lek women was expected to. However the Captain did not take her as most would. He told her that she did not have to be a normal Twi'lek women. He also expressed his love for her as he put her robes back on her. The two shared a kiss. As Atari was leaving that day he asked her not to go. Antillies wanted Atari to join his crew and travel amoung the stars.
Afraid she told him that upon her next visit she will leave. She will take the month to explain it to her father. When he returns she will leave with him.
This never came to be. That very same day she went searching for her father to tell him her decision. She learned that he was going for a walk in the caverns. She entered the caverns traveling where her father often walked. Here she discovered her father making a deal with a group of slavers. He would present them with a list and they would pick people from it where her father would deliver those people to the slavers in exchange for them to stop raiding. This would allow the Twi'leks some control over their own slavery. When Atari stumbled in on the dirty deal the slavers discovered that she was no where on the list. They beat her father for punishment and choose Atari to become their first slave pick. Her father, Ord Fren Taa begged them not to take her but it was too late and they were gone.
Atari was taken to Tatooine to become a Slave for Jabba the Hutt. Jabba and assigned her to his pod racing arena at Mos Espa. She would be forced to please the guests who Jabba invited to the races and pit fights. Atari for a short while even was forced to be chained to Jabba's own dias. However she survived when an even more beautiful human woman was discovered by Jabba.
Atari remained that way for amost a year. Overtime she was becomming more and more trusted where she was even allowed to go off to perform tasks unattended. She loved the sun baked lands of Tatooine it was so diffrent from the cold of Ryloth. One day Atari snuck off and attempted to contact her father via hyperspace communications. She was discovered and taken before Jabba at his palace.
There she discovered her love. Dutch was delivering Ryll to Jabba and happened to be in his court when they dragged Atari before Jabba. Jabba sentenced her to death and was about to drop her into this creature pit when Dutch Antillies stepped in and took her place. He made a deal with Jabba that if he won she would go free. If he lost his court would get double the entertainment. Jabba agreeded and droped Dutch into the pit. Within inches of his life he killed the 3 neek battle dogs. one of his arms and legs were badly mutlated. But he did survive and Dutch bleeding everywhere took Atari back to his ship. He died shortly after but Atari was free.
Atari took his modified Old Republic Crusier and headed to the stars to find her way and follow the yet unknown Will of the Force.
Since that time she has been exploring the stars in an attempt to live her dream. Little did she know that she was Force Sensative and could feel the Force. She was discovered by Jedi Knight Izsa Satillie who took her under her wing and trained her as a Jedi. Thus Atari became a Jedi Padawan and later Knight.
