Captain Bulsara WIP
Velovich contacted me relatively recently to ask if I had ever finished this piece and I realized that I had never progressed beyond the flat colors. Below is the final piece which I'll be submitting today.
I hope it was worth the wait, V-Man.

Wow, I LOVE that box. I know that may seem really minor, but I LOVE the box. The droid's great too, I love the design, and the hands. The dude's good too :-)

Yeah! The droid design is totally great, and the emotional state of the captain is so nicely depictured, you can feel the frustration.
Theres so much details that you can look at everywhere... i love it, great job, cant wait to see it finnished!

Thanks for the comments, gentlefolk.
The droid is the sturdy "Asp" model from the Star Wars "A New Hope" re-release. It's an odd design, but a bit cooler than the binary load-lifter.

Wow, this is so cool! It reminds me of me and Drig in-game! Haha!

I *really* like the humor. I don't know the droid model, however. I can't find any reference to it in the Droids compilation from Thiago Aranha's page, which is pretty comprehensive. Is this it:

But the pose, expression, and the "pathetic lifeforms" running around, I can see it all easily.
This is great, I love the "still life" aspect - a snapshot of his life. Since Freddy took out a little more of a loan than usual from his "benefactor" (local crime boss), I can see a "special cargo" beling delivered by a security droid. That fits beautifully.
I'm looking forward to the finished work...

Follow up -
The more "harried" and "overloaded" you work in, the better. The only thing missing (aside from the crates and such you mentioned) is a flock of 7 year old kids begging money or candy.

Glad you like where it's going. Moving forward...
I have the action figure of the droid at home somewhere. Probably in among my daughter's things by now. I'll see if I can find him and snap a pic.

I just saw it today, that is *great*. The game has been going since New Year's and I've actually had a stowaway "pathetic life form", though it was mammalian, and then, later, had to transport it's five siblings! This really mirrors events in the game! The jacket and hat are perfect!

Hooray for accidental coincidence!
I'm glad you're happy with how the overall piece turned out. I should be done by Monday with the shading and background. Keep your peepers peeped!
