1940's style Star Wars Pin-up [ShadowDeep]

This is request for a 1940's style for a Star Wars pin-up.

It is a picture/poster that would grace walls of barricks or the nose art of starfighters or gunships of the Grand Army of the Republic or the Rebel Alliance.

The woman in the art can be of any human or near-human species. If the artist goes for a human female she should have a 1940's Updo style of hair (rolled up on top and hanging down the back.)

The pose can be frontal or her looking over the shoulder and she should have a sensual expression on her face.
(ie: A smile on her face with her index finger up to her teeth)

The artist can come up with a name or suggestions can be made if the artist wants them.

Thank you for reading this request.
Your humble servant,
-Lord Crumb Tarncrest :-)

Ok, this is just a great request, LC. SWAG should do a Gals of Star Wars calendar featuring artist's work- especially since everything here is PG. I'd buy one!

I thought selling SWAG art for profits was a no-no, at least where FlanneledOne's licensing was concerned...

Although, rather than a specific request, I think it would be fun and fine idea to allow whoever to come up with some pieces - like a series. I love that 40's style nose-art too :)

I know a few years back before I got into 3d posing & rendering, I entertained the idea of a few particular 40's style nose art that would be fitting for that fuselage space on the X-Wing behind the cockpit, in line where the astromech socket is. Theres a nice spot there before the engines with the most vertical height.

For Y-Wings, it'd likely have to be on the front flat hood past the canopy. B-Wings have lots of wingspace, especially with the vertical wing. For ships and transports, LAAT's have a few prime spots, even pretty much on par for placement like the B-52 bombers. some nose art on the side cockpit of a YT-1300 or YT-2400 would look particular cheeky too :)

All I can say is, theres lots of fun ideas here, (having already thought about it years ago).

I'm not claiming this request as I don't have that particular styled hair up-do in my collection (not even sure if one is even available out there). Tho later down the road I might do up a few for submission, sans that updo. (and i've already got top-down tokens to make for another request).

Could always have a SWAGONLINE.Net Calendar where all the artists who get published in it, agree that their work can be used to bring in proceeds for the site. And get's their art well known, as well as get's the site well known.

I second that idea, Xan. And LC, it may not be entirely PG, but Bettie Page rocked an updo a lot of the time- bet you could find some pics of her that would work as well.

Nope, I certainly don't have anything remotely like that. Thanks for the illustrated sample though.

Years back, there was a funds drive for the site, mainly through given donations.

At the very beginning there was also "swag" apparel you could buy, with the SWAG double ended stylus nibs logo (the calligraphic fountain pen heads), and SWAG site name / website. These were in the form of skullcaps / toques, shirts, baseball caps. Great idea at the time, but only a rare few bothered to buy any.

I'm only saying what had happened once, at SWAG's initial debut.

A calendar made for free, put into pdf form for personal print and use, or as desktop wallpaper would be legit. As for selling it for funds / proceeds towards the site, thats still a grey area as far as I knew. While it might be a great idea and innocently intended to help out the site, lest it comes to the attention of LucasFilm / LucasArt's legal and licensing department, it would be our good host Eclipse that would be receiving a Cease and Desist letter from the FlanneledOne's company lawyers to shut the swag site down.

This in true fact had happened to one of our fellow and talented SWRPGNetwork community members who went by the name of Nazgul, who had the programing language skills and had gone ahead written an incredibly useful and handy character, ship, creature, droid generator program. You could whip up a set of stats in a couple minutes without errors, and get a statblock or html page auto generated. The community loved it, even Rodney "Morriden" Thompson and Gary Sarli (both who work for WOTC's Star Wars RPG game book department). Everything was fine until LF/LA's departments got wind of it through WOTC, on behalf of LF/LA, WOTC had sent Nazgul personally a Cease & Desist letter to stop all efforts on his little handy character generator. When the informed / notified party does not oblige, then it goes to court.

I've been a member of the SWRPGNetwork since 2002 (my full alias there is Terras Jadeonar & Raven, hence the truncation to TNJadeonar), like Hisham, Tramp, and Seghast (and others I forgot to mention, some of which been members since 1999), have seen SWAG born out of popularity from within the SWRPGNetwork Holonet forums. I'd hate to see SWAG get shut down over good intentions.

Though ultimately, its Eclipse who would have to make the final ruling over something like this.

1.) I quickly skimmed here due to time constraints
2.) We won't ever be selling anything that's SW related. The site is here to provide space for the artists, and request areas for the gamers. That's the scope of what we do. We don't publish canonical characters because we don't want LFL's attentions, we don't sell SW related materials because we don't want LFL's attentions... The only way this will ever happen is if LFL comes to us (or whatever) asking us to help generate that sort of content.
3.) The swag gear that was sold was swag specific gear... nothing star wars specific. Thus we could sell that.
4.) The site currently makes its money from the adds that run on the site. If you want to support swag, don't block the adds ;-)
5.) The last and best way you can support swag is by creating great content for the site, images, blogs, forum posts, etc.

With all of that said... I love the idea of a pg 40's era pinup gallery of sw gals. If this were to happen, I would definitely put together a section of the site for it. It would probably be a big draw, and probably fall under the "great content" I was mentioning.

Just CMA. In my defense I did not mention anything about selling any kind of items. Bella's idea of a pin-up gal calendar is nice but I think if you did it yourself, be sure to contact the artist and ask for their permission to use the artwork in a personal made calendar for personal use only not to sell.

A Star Wars pin-up gal gallery sounds cool. Okay artist lets start cranking out the PG-rated Pin-up Gals. Humans, Zeltrons, Twi'leks, and etc...

Thanks to everyone who has dropped by to view this request and dicussion which can be followed on Xan's post in the community section.

Thanks Shadowdeep, I look forward to seeing how it will turn out. I looked at your gallery and I recognized a few that I like. The "Wrong Move" and the "Tank" are really great.

Awesome to see that you have returned Shadowdeep. Been 5 years since your last piece.. I'm excited to see some new work :)

Pete -Shadowdeep-

Just a heads up that I haven't dropped this project. It's in the rotation and in process. Just had to shuffle it back a little for the short present.

Pete -Shadowdeep-

Well, it only took me a month to get one request done. But I'm clear to tackle this one now. Should be a bit quicker though, as I did my reference search at the same time as the other request.
