I thought I'd draw the Zebra fighter in flight with all fairings and panels attached, for comparison with the other piece I drew where a Zebra is undergoing repairs and engine replacement. Using GIMP to pencil, ink and color.

A little cross-universe homage is part of the drawing. Can anyone identify what the homage is and where it's from?

Zebra Starfighter

This is the Hyrotil Vehicle Works Zebra starfighter, very lightweight in offence and defence. It was first mentioned and statted in Planets of the Galaxy, Volume One. However, there's never been an official artwork for it anywhere.

This is a non-canonical design, which was on Pablo Hidalgo's site years ago. It's the only design for the Zebra that pops up in Google image searches. So here it is again, with bluish finish and bright red markings.

Following on from the modular free trader design, details of a scabbed-on hanger deck for smaller ships such as landers and close-orbit vehicles.

A design sketch for a generic free trader ship. While specific designs can be used on profitable bulk contracts, a free trader may need something theat can adapt. THis ship is basically a huge tug, all engines, a cockpit and living quarters. Cargo pods are simply plugged into the sides, allowing the ship to be quickly configured for a variety of loads. Imagine an 18-wheeler tractor that can pull a variety of trailers.

So I ask myself one night, "What if Mon Cal ingenuity met CEC adaptability?"

This here is the ship owned by the Mon Cal smuggler, Icklar, and his Gungan pal, Bazza. They have modified the daylights outta this puppy, let me tell ya. She's fast, nimble, well shielded, decently armed with turrets and forward facing ion cannon. Yup, she's pretty sweet.
