============ Initial Blog Entry ============

As requested by Jace Terrik, the first of 3 D.S artifacts being modeled in 3D.

While I've been rendering for a few years now, this is a pretty new venture, into actual modeling.

Part 1a:
The initial cylindrical shape.
- A inner cylinder for the glowing "fire" like energy with my own custom made procedural material effect.
- A cylinder with vertical indentation for a container cap
- some sort of end spars that perhaps help channel the energy when used.

Ra Shanaci WIP

A new character for a new game...

Ra Shanaci, human (Lorrdian) , a cool, smooth talking faceman for the Foster Corps squad. He's right at home in a dark seedy smoke filled cantina, or going for a 'stroll' through Coruscant's Red Light District. Ra grew up in the ghettos, his family was somewheres between middle class and poverty level. He honed his skills at an early age, and enlisted into the Rebel Alliance soon he was able to.

First set of WIP's are a screenshot of my workspace as I position and pose the character, and the next couple are 2 variances in lighting condition. Dawn and early evening sunset. I could do mid-day as well.

Some notes:
- sample render quality right now, thus you'll see jaggies around the edges etc
- the hair I need to fix or change, as its not looking up to my standards

She's unnamed at the moment, sorry.

Ok, heres a new SW render I'm working on... I'm using some stuff I bought that I hadn't had a chance to use before.

Nope, she's not a Zabrack, they've been over-used as Sith IMHO. Horns / tusks are purely on the helmet and shoulder paldrons. She's human or near human, at the very least humanoid species. ;)

Technicalities present:

I realize the lightsaber blade is a bit jagged - its a glitch i'm working on. I will say though, its my first attempt at doing a 'lit' lightsaber.

Alright folks, first log entry and my first SWAG Request taken on for RedDragonRipper... Woot for me!

I've got the resources & materials to do this one and don't have to purchase anything extra, so thats the only reason in the future that I'll ever take on or do requests. And this is a learn in progress. A brand new challenge :)
