Mon Calamari Rogue

My second attempt at using Painter. I absolutely adore the
oil-painting effect that is achievable with this program.
This is a Mon Calamari rogue fleeing for his life after some
misadventure or other.
I basically scribbled a pencil thumbnail in my sketchbook, scanned it
in, blew it up and faded it and printed it out at A4. Then I drew in
the details with a biro (as is my want), scanned it again and
increased the contrast. Selecting only the black, I seperated it,
making the white transparent. I loaded in a background texture and
overlayed the black outline on a seperate layer. I then loaded the
image into Painter and blocking in the shape with dark blues, greens
and purples, I then painted over the top in increasingly lighter
colours and tones.

As usual, if you use theis image for anything, I'd love to hear about
it.
