Another mando pic. This one is a little ambitious. I hope I haven't tried to reach too far. I know right now, I'll be working on this one for a while...

!! This is gonna be SWEET!
(Having FIIIIINALLY just finished reading the Republic Commando novels, I have to say I'm totally digging the Mando things you're doing.)

Oh. My. God. As another big fan of the Mandalorians, ever since I read the Republic Commando series, I am really looking forward to how this picture will turn out, and it already looks really great.
This is going so cool. Spare no expence on the background. Love it
Whoa, dude. This is going to be epic.

Looking good!

Holy crap, man!!! You really took that 'spare no expense' thing to heart, didn't you??
that is just awsome. That background is smokin' ( and not just from the combat either)
Thanks for the kind words folks. It's getting there. So far I've logged 14 hours on this piece. I'm keeping a running total.
awesome work, dude! The rubble is very impressive, and the stormtrooper looks great too. Can't wait to see this one done!
You may notice, especially in the second image, that the rubble has a repeated pattern. This is because I did a little pile of rubble, and then copied and pasted it in layers, with judicial use of the eraser to merge it into a solid mass.
Then in the third image, I enhanced the shading and lighting differently in each section, disguising the repeating pattern.
No matter how you are doing it...keep it up man. Thisis some very good stuff your throwing at us. I bow to your dedication and background prowess
LUDICROUSLY DETAILED!

Continuing to look excellent, my good man! The background is looking tremendous with all the extra bits added in. The Starcruisers in particular have great atmospheric perspective, they sit very well.
If I may offer some constructive crit.'s; the two front side cinder block walls of the building may need some extra shading to distinguish one from the other, they are very similar in tone. I can tell from the perspective drawing just fine that they are at two different angles, but some extra distinction of light source will help it look less flat otherwise - and it won't need much either. The Stormtrooper in the foreground is excellent, you've really outdone yourself on the rendering of his midsection and helmet, but I think it >might< pop out too much because it is so white [the hardest thing to render, in my book]. You may want to consider trying to work in some reflected colour from the rubble, that little bit more shading especially onto the underside of his limbs and his left waist side will help him fit into his surroundings a bit better. And if I was going to nit-pick I'd suggest maybe showing a stub of his right foot peeking out from behind the rubble pile there too, but that may not be necessary.
All of the above are assuming you are done with those areas, which you may not be yet anyways.
Thanks bud.
My final step will be to add the signature. The step before that will be to apply shadows and overall shading to the entire piece. I think that will address those points you mentioned.
Balls, man. That picture is amazing.
Thanks dude. Will be better yet. ;)
Super badass. Loving watching this progress!!
Thanks. I don't normally do the WIP thing. I find that it saps my desire to work on the piece. It's the excitement of springing the final product that drives me. Like "Surprise! Look what I did with your request!"
In this case it's okay, because the guy I'm doing it for won't check on these updates here. It's the mando in the center. The one in the blue is his brother. The other two are his sons. I've portrayed them as adults in the image but they are actually still fairly little kids.
Dude! This is looking just AMAZING!!
Thanks Mercy. Stay tuned. I hope to put in a few more hours this weekend...wife allowing.
Well...as of image 7, I have logged 29 hours of actual work on this piece. Whew! Still lots more to go.
Dude, this is such an awesome picture. For realz dude, it's amazing.
Seriously love the colors you chose for the mando on the left [with the yellow scarf].
Can't take credit for the choice of colours. These costumes actually exist.
A close up to show the level of detail...which is what is adding up the hours!
That is INSANE, Dred!! Lots of awe, right here.
Thanks Tuss.
More progress...another closeup.
Dare I ask 'what's next' after this piece is done? LOL
I have a half completed piece I will get to...eventually. But I really want to start working on that *other* project we discussed. No not that one. The *other OTHER* one.
Most of all I liked the colours you've used! Good CV Professional work!
I suspect cutting of being a spammer...
(Got a 'resume writer' link posted to my blog and I'm afraid to click on it for fear of being right.)
On an unrelated note - dred, totally blowing my mind right now! Looking awesome!!
Yeah its a spammer for sure. Otherwise...glad to be a mind blower!
Complete and submitted. Total time: 44 hours.
Can't wait to see it!
Maaaan, does anyone else get as excited as me waiting for the newest batch of uploads to appear?
I do.
